No AC on 94 850 wagon
Fellers,
I looked at a gorgeous burgundy '94 850 wagon Turbo with 95k miles today but the AC didn't blow cold. Can i easily add freon to this car? How can i tell if the turbo is working properly? At what RPM does the turbo usually kick in?
thanks

It is easy to Add Freon. The evaperators are Known to leak on these cars.
The turbo kicks in at different times. Most of the time you can hear the turbo kick in.
Does it have a turbo Guage?
If so does it move?
You can also usually feel it kick in.

Would this car use R134a already or would it need to be converted? Yes the turbo guage did move but i didn't get to get the car out on the open road so i didn't get a good feel for the engine.
Yes it is 134A already.
You should feel a good boost in the city when getting on it pretty hard from a stop.
You will feel it start taking off then you will feel a pretty good boost in acceleration.

can I use the typical can of freon available at Autozone or walmart to recharge the AC? Where is the valve to add the freon?
