HI,

I HAVE A 1994 850 TURBO. FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY, WHEN IN GEAR ALL OF THE SUDDEN NO UPSHIFT WHEN ENG IS REVVED, EVEN WHEN I MANUALLY DOWNSHIFT TO LOWEST GEAR. EARLIER TODAY THE ARROW SIGN WAS FLASHING A NUMBER OF TIMES BUT AFTER 3 OR 4 TIMES IT DID NOT FLASH AGAIN. THE STRANGE THING IS THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT TODAY. IT HAPPENS WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND AFTER STRUGGLING FOR A FEW SECONDS IT DISAPPEARS. THIS IS THE FIRST DAY IT HAPPENNED AND OCCURRED MORE THAN 5 OR 6 TIMES. TRANS OIL LEVEL IS FULL AND IT IS NOT VERY DIRTY. ANYONE THINK LUCAS TRANNY FIX MAY HELP!! IS THIS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM?? ANY SUGGESTIONS PLS HELP!!

 

Try the throttle position sensor, TPS. I unpluged mine while trying to troubleshoot another problems and the car would not shift and the arrow came on.

 

This is a common problem on older 940s because of a faulty automatic transmission relay and is probably the same here. An 850 long timer could probably chime in if it is the only white relay on the 850 also. Quick and easy fix as there are lots for sale on ebay at any time.
