Default O2 Sensor?

1995 855T

I got the dreaded CEL today. I pulled the codes and got 4-4-3 and 4-3-5. I reset the codes and they have't come back yet but I went ahead and ordered the front O2 sensor. Can't hurt to change it after 130K, right?

Does this make sense or am I heading down the wrong path here?

Thanks!

If the code was for the front its not a bad idea.BUT i would also replace the rear while you are at it.

That's a good idea. These things are expensive though! I was hoping to get away with replacing the front one only if the codes don't come back.

I replaced just the front about three months ago, and have not had any problems. CEL has not returned. I would have replaced both, but it was too expensive and to code just said the front was bad. I got the code three times before replacing.

Thanks. I think the rear sensor is only there for emissions purposes. From what I understand, a new rear sensor won't make the car run any better or more efficiently. Can anyone comfirm this?

The rear sensor is there to compensate for what the front o2 sensor misses.
The rear one can also make it run bad as well.
Most of the time if the front one goes the rear one isn't far behind.

Since you already have the front one in you can wait to see what happens.
