Default OEM Spark plugs? What are you using?

What are the OEM spark plugs for a 95 850 turbo? I had my plugs out yesterday and the gap seems a little too much on them they are NGK BKR6EGP, they are definatly not a copper plug because the electrode is tiny I'd assume they're platinum. I will be putting in 5 new ones after I picked them up. I was thinking of getting a regular set of copper plugs, other than they don't last as long I think they're better plugs, well copper is the better conductor of electricity. so with the ease of a spark plug change in this 5cyl long lasting plugs are not really neccessary.

what plugs do you use, are there certain ones to stay away from? for example I have read that a lot of people have had problems with Bosch Platinum +4 plugs in turbo 3000GT's like mine. are there any issues with certaiplugs on these turbo 5's?

Another bit of advise on Spark plug wires would be cool, the wires on my engin now are OEM Bougicord wires and they appear to be in really good condition. the insulation is gread and the distributor cap end boots are great and the contacts inside are good. as far as the boots that go ib the valve cover they look fine as well. are there any other signs of wear or breakdown in these wires? They physically look good would there be any other part of them that may be broken down?

As far as the Distributor cap and rotor are concerned would it be best to get OEM parts ir would it matter if aftermarket parts are put on there. do the both of those parts really wear much?

thank
-Mike

I stick with OEM plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and never had a problem with them. The wires have a date stamped on them if they are OEM. If they are more than four years old I would replace them. I think a set of OEM Turbo plugs runs around $30, if I remember correctly. I bought mine through volvoparts. com.

I looked at the wires again and there are numbers on them 39 04 I am assuming they mean 39th week of 2004 was the date of manufacture? Is that correct?

What is typical time that these wires reach customers, I'd assume a couple months after manufacture date for sure.
