Default Volvo oem spark plugs

I have 2005 s60 t5, I ordered new spark plugs from the dealer the ones I got say Volvo r6 on the plug. The old ones I pulled out of the car say Volvo r6 on the plug. The problem is the new oem plug the threads are .25" shorter then the plug I pulled out of the car. This would mean that the tip of the plug would sit a .25" less then the plug I pulled out of the car. Has anyone run across this problem?

Went to the local Volvo dealer today and they say the correct part number is
30751806 not 8692071. The engine is B5244T5.

FCP parts online says the correct part is 8692071, I will go with my local dealer that says the correct part is 30751806.

Has anyone with a 2005 s60 T5 had this kind of problem trying to replace spark plus?

Same issue (2008 Volvo S60-T5, B5244T5), unfortunately noticed after 20,000 km the shorter 8692071 spark plugs where installed by Volvo official garage on schedule maintenance (noticed something not the same but left it), replaced now by the correct 30751806.
Can somebody clarify me if there is any negative influence, after driving 20K KM with the shorter 8692071?
If yes, there is a way to fix it ???
Thanks by advance.

how to fix the wrong sized plugs? install the correct sized plugs. FYI, I went into FCP and they show the 30751806 as the OEM plug for the 2005 S60 T5s and for the 2008 S60-T5s. (on sale now for $55 for the package)

You shouldn't have any adverse effect from running the shorter plugs. they just didn't protrude into the combustion chamber as much which may have given you a less efficient flame front - but if you didn't notice while driving or thow a CEL code, no big deal. Did you see any change in driveability/cold starts etc with the new plugs?

Already yesterday installed the new 30751806 plugs. During the 20K driving, as I remember, once or twice the Warning symbol or the Emission Fault lit after starting, turning engine off, start again, was O.K., so I left it. And YES, first impression after short drive with the new plugs is that engine runs smoother and maybe better throttle response.
About fixing, I meant, if the less efficient flame that causes less efficient combustion, has any adverse effect like ash/soot etc., if there is something recommended to do for improvement. Thanks.

time for the "Italian tune up"? (a good long high speed run on the highway). Back in the late 70s I owned a BMW 2002, which we drove from Boston to Indianapolis (for the 500), up to Chicago (sister's place) then returned via the northern route across Ontario to Niagra Falls and I-90 back to Boston. Since there were no enforced speed limits in Canada back then, we drove autobahn speeds for a solid 4 hours. The inside of the tailpipe went from black to gray - and the car never ran better than when we got back. My conclusion was I burned all the carbon off the piston heads...

Good morning. My preferred sea-shore is 340 KM distance from home. Good idea for one day run there and back. Thanks. Postscript, maybe I'll add the BG 44K ??? Thanks again.
