Default Oil all over the top of my engine?WTF

well I want to thank the people who have previously answred my posts about some foglight issues that I had, but now I have a more serious problem....

It all started after I took my car to have the rear main seal replaced. It was leaking and it's not any more, I had it fixed by someone who has a lot of volvo experience, and I thought he did a decent job. Ever since then, when I drive the car a little harder, I have oil all over the top of my engine. This guy told me to replace my oil cap and I did, still the same problem, I took the liberty of replacing that nasty oil separator hoping that there might have been excess crank preasure, and i still have the problem. Whats up? I am running out of ideas, I am thinking that I possibly have too much boost (if there is such a thing). and its blowing oil out. I also have this nagging feeling like he might have crossed some oil lines or something.

Any ideas causeI amfresh out.

Something sounds clogged somewhere. Or the sleeve where the oil cap goes onto the Cam cover is leaking.

I washed my engine and took it out for a quick run. After I cam back the hood was soaked and the rest of of the engine as well. However, i found the leak to be coming from oil dipstick, and a little from the oil cap. Crank over preassure still? I think it's time to do a compression test. i really hope that isn't the problem, because i don't see a lot of blue smoke coming fom the back but something has to be overpressurizing this system

Check all the little hoses in the system as well.
They replaced the vent box?

Yeah I replaced that ;little black box that sits under the manifold too, if thats what you meanby vent box. I talked to a buddy of mine that happens to be a mechanic at at a Volvo dealership, and he says that they have a tool that measures the vacumm thru the oil dipstick I will try that out and see what they deal is. if thats still the case i will check the PCV system agian and then do a comp test.

WellI have good news for me, I couldn't resist so I did the compression test, and the result were okay, well above the minum for 3 cylinders and slightly below on cylinder 3 and 5 but all within the allowable range. I also came to the conclusion that because Volvos are notorious for oil in the intake system, I did a wet compression test too, and found that my valves may not be sealing properly. which is possibly good news. I will do a good engine flush on it tomorrow, and also do a nice oil change as well.

Having said that, probably not expesnive engine work is ncesseary, however, I am back to square one with my crankcase over pressure. So I will use thatvacuum tool tomorrow as well and see if I can find a possible clog in the system.

...and it may not hurt to check for blocked exhaust system (a bore scope would be nice, though they are $$$), add a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner and replace the O-ring on the dipstick.

Best wishes,

I managed to fix my car! the vacuum tool gave awsome results, the problem was the oil cap itself

Thanx for all the help and support.
