Default oil on cam cover

hey guys l came across some oil on the timing belt cover.l changed my lifters three days ago and the leak looks like its close to the oil pump and at the lower part of the cover.does that mean the oil pump seals needs to be changed?my tensioner leaked a little bit of oil when l compressed it.l ordered a new one and l will be getting it today. could it have caused the oil leak on the cover?thank you.here is a pic of it

Either you have a leaking cam cover or you pinched a cam seal when you put the cover back on. Try to get a mirror and look through the cam sprockets and see if the cam shaft seals are set in there right. If you pinched them, it would cause them to leak and often the cam cover will not seat right and leak as well.

Make sure the oil is fresh before you get to carried away.

It is very hard to find leaks in that area. The cam cover can be leaking or the cam seals.

The timing belt tensioner oil looks more like Olive oil than motor oil and there is very little in that tensioner, to little to leak down anywhere.

The "cam cover", is what you put the anaerobic sealant on before you bolted it down. also known as the VC, or top of the head. Take the top timing belt cover off and check to see if the oil is coming from the top. If it's coming from there, it should be easy to see. Like RSPI said take a flashlight and try to look at the cam shaft seals on that side. If you still can't find it, wipe all of that oil clean. Then go back periodically and search for the leak. Searching for an oil leak, while the car has spilled oil on it, can be like searching for a needle in a haystack. I know it's a hard area to take good pics of. But the ones you posted, are so concentrated, you really can't tell much be looking at them. It may even be dropped oil from when you previously pulled the cam cover, and just didn't wipe up.

No problem bro. Thats what I would do. wipe it out, drive it today, and when you do the tensioner tomorrow, it should give you a better indication.
