Default oil drain using pump?

My pal has one of those oil pumps that you do oil changes with via the dip stick. Anyone use one? Any thoughts? The Mercedes website (I used to own one) was really excited about them years ago, but I never got one. Now, I really don't feel like lying in the dirt of my driveway. The thought of putting a tube in the dip stick, turning on the pump intrigues me.

I'd rather pull the plug, but that's just me.
I know they are used a lot for boats simply because you can't get under the engine to drain the oil.
I don't know of any dealer or quick lube place that uses them, they all pull the plug too. I have to think there is a reason they don't use a vacuum.

But you still have to get under the car to change the filter....

Just lay down a sheet or a broken down box
