I'm a new member.I have a 97 - 850 wagon with a oil leak . It appears to be coming from the area of the turbo. I assume a oil line going to the turbo.Is this a problem any one else has had? Mark

 

That is a very common problem and cheap and pretty easy to repair.

 

I'm also new to Volvos as of tonight. I've got a small oil leak as well, though I'm not sure where it's coming from yet. I guess the turbo is as good a place as any to start looking. Are there any other common oil leak spots in Volvo's, and what's involved in fixing it if it's an oil line to the turbo?

If it is leaking at the turbo return line it will take you about 45 min. to an hour to fix it.

 

I had my turbo replaced in my XC70. At first the dealer told me that my engine oil was overfilled causing it to leak. To me that is impossible. AFter a week i Went back, tell them its leaking again. So they replaced the turbo, with some seals.
