Oil Level Question
Hey guys...I've noticed that the dipstick on my 850 will show the oil level extremely low (almost no oil on it) if I check it right after running the engine. However, if I wait 10 - 15 minutes and check it again, it is at the normal level. Is this right?

I believe the amount of oil indicated between the top and lower mark on the dipstick is about a quart of oil. So your engine is draining back at fairly slow rate. have you checked to see if anything is clogged/plugged. how many mile on this engine. and did you do a PCV. for reference my Turbo's oil level stay fairly constant.

The car has 170k on it and the PCV was done at about 144K. After the oil drains back down, the oil level is right in the middle of the top and lower mark. I don't see any smoke on the dipstick as that seems to be one of the indicators that the PCV system is about to give up the ghost. Where should I check for a clog?
You would have to check the oil passages in the head which is a pretty big job on these motors. My 850 exhibits the same behavior as do just about every car I own. When the oil is warm it will flow a little faster and get back to the pan quicker, like after a trip on the highway. I just got in the habit of checking the oil in the morning before I set off for the day.
Yes, that's normal.
