Default PCV job Done 850T5R

I have just done the PCV job, ran into a few problems. The elbow under the intake manifold was lose and holding in by a one turn. On closer inspection the thread was all mangled and bent, replaced that. This is the hose that connects to the brake booster hose and was squashed under the air box. Ok now replaced elbow, used gas tape to ensure a good tight and sealed fit, new hose and routed around the air-box in the channel. The kit from groton was great. Connected the oil trap up of the car. The connector on the bottom of the oil trap had a metal housing no clamps required there.

Pulled the air intake hose off and cleaned pcv valve good, a bit difficult to take out and put back in the rubber grommet. Found that using some silicon and a cable tie held the switch in the correct position on the grommet.

The most underrated tool I found is the magnetic telescopic wand. That saved my bacon!! Now onto a new found problem. The vacuum switch under the air box intake hose in front of the radiator ticks a lot when idling? Is this normal. The switch plugs into a hose and into the intake manifold and has a plug on it while the other goes somewhere. What is this used for?

I gave the T5r a good hard drive today and I noticed the boost gauge goes almost to the end of the white section, goes great. I think from standard the T5r runs about 10.5psi of boost. I can get the wheels to break traction going into second gear!

Any thoughts on the ticking vaccum switch would be great. Thanks again for a great forum.

i did the same job ladt week but still notice some blow-by. Also, I have never seen my turbo gauge going more then 1/3 of the white area. Can you suggest if this is a problem please?

That clicking is normal if it is the valve but the cooling fan on the radiator.

I would fund a vacuum guage/pressure guage and see exactly how much boost it is pushing.

Checked all the vaccum lines and they all look nice n' tight. For normal driving conditions, the turbo (vaccum) gauge on the dash stays almost 3/4 of vaccum side during idling and close to middle (12 o'clock position) during accelleration. The drive in general is very enjoyable but the only thing that worries me is the blow-by and that threatens me of seals.
