300 hp using an auto tranny? I would not try that unless I had a spare tranny lying around.

300 crank hp isn't that bad...

Doesn't a chip (17psi) or MBC and an exhaust get you about that?

Welcome to the forum.

1. Stage Zero must be done. Click here to find out what Stage Zero is, https://volvoforums.com/m_38606/tm.htm

2. 3" mandrel bent downpipe and Hi-Flow CAT.

3. 2.5" mandrel bent catback system with a free flowing straight through design muffler such as a BORLA or Magnaflow.

4. K&N panel filter, EST panel filter, EST intake system, BMC CDA, or custom made intake system.

5. ECU upgrade (RICA, IPD USA, Upsolute, SpeedTuning USA, Inmotion.)

With these mods you will be closer to 300Hp but not at 300Hp. You can go to Level 10 and have your automatic tranny upgraded that is about it. Or you can do a manual swap. Our automatic trannies can hold around 300-350 max Horses and be fine.

-----------------------------------

If money isn't a problem I have some other suggestions for you...

1. Upgrade your turbo to something bigger. Example 16T turbo, 18T or 19T or even something out of the Volvo family such as a Garret turbo. If you do this your going to want to upgrade your catback system to full 3" instead of 2.5".

2. Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC).

3. Aquamist Water Injection

4. Port and Polish of your Intake and Exhaust manifolds and throttle body.

-------------------------------------

With the extra power your going to want to brake better and handle better. I suggest...

For braking I suggest you go with some Slotted rotors and some higher performance brake pads and again if money is no option go with a BBK (Big Brake Kit), you will need 17"+ rims though to fit a BBK.

For handling I would recommend some IPD Sway bars, IPD HD Endlinks, Lowering springs (H&R, B&G, TME (IPD), Apex, Intrax, Vogtland, KW Coilovers, Eibach. Shocks/Struts as well. KONI FSD's, KONI Yellows, Bilstein HD's and for good measure and nice engine bay appeal a strut brace but not IPD's economy strut brace it is crap.

Visit BSR site in Sweden (bsr.se) and see their PPC electronic tunning device. Without KN filter and other add ons, it busts power to 294HP. Same part is sold in the US, but then you see the nearest distributor. Gook luck.!

What does that mean, 'but then you see the nearest distributor'? Not too many around? Or something else? What does the PPC do? Timing/Turbo psi/fuel injection +?

If 300HP doesn't get your motor going, here's your last resort.

The PPC unit is an ECU upgrade. Also the PPC unit by BSR is only for 1999+ models. If you will notice EST sells the BSR system and under the Volvo 850 section it is not listed for that model. However if you move over to the s70/v70 section you will see that it is listed there.

850 Section:
http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/Mercha...Code=VL-850-en

S70/V70 Section: http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/Mercha...Code=VL-S70-en
and within this section you will find the BSR PPC ECU tuning system and if you click the link you will notice what models the BSR PPC can be used on. Short cut click here, http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/Mercha...Code=VL-S70-en

*If you want to upgrade your ECU your going to have to do it the old fashioned way. Which is sending it off to be chipped/flashed. Again companies that do this are IPD USA, RICA, Upsolute, SpeedTuning USA, Inmotion. The best out of all these companies are IPD USA and RICA, they have the most research and development and might be the most exspensive but ECU tuning is key and these people do it right.
