Default Putting lower control arm back

When I tried to put the lower control back into the knuckle, I used a hammer to hit the circle part under the ball joint. Do you think it would have damage the ball joint and the control arm as well?

If nothing is dented /bent on the ball joint, and you didn't have to whack the living beejesus out of it,it should be ok.
