Most states it is illegal to seel a used one.
You might be able to find one.
Also check FCPgroton.com
It is possible the cat is clogged or coming apart and blocking the pipe. Did you hear rattling when the car was at idle?

Well...You can always do a custom pipe/cat at a local shop...or just have them weld a new cat.
IPD, EST, VIVA preformance, andmaybe some more people have high preformance pipes/cats for like $700-$800.
Just thought I would throw those options out there.

Also remember if you go that route it will make it slightly louder.

Don't know if this applies to other countries, but in Australia the cat has a small resonator in it.
Apparently it makes quite a difference to exhaust noise.
Guy that did my exhaust should know, he has an 850 himself.
After a lot of research he recons the cat assy from a mercedes fits, has the resonator built in, and is cheaper..

All seems under $400. Contact FCP Groton for bolts/hardware availability. Also try searching at: http://www.eeuroparts.com/Main/Home.aspx

I personally do not like used exhaust components.

It may have developed a leak somewhere in the exhaust pipe. I would visually inspect the entire line while the engine is stone cold. The closer the leak to the engine, the louder it is.
