My dad recently purchased a 1995 volvo 850 from a private seller but on the title it says volvo 854 gta.. What does this mean? Is the volvo 854 gta a special volvo? On the back of the volvo it clearly says volvo 850 glt. Is this really what it is supposed to be or did someone mess up?

 

Im not sure about the GTA but the 854 means a 850 sedan. An 855 would be a wagon.

 

pretty sure it's a GLT....never heard of a GTA.

 

854 mean sedan (4 door), 855 wagon (5 door) but they are both still 850's.

The GTA I have no idea. Never seen that before.

 

Could it be a 850 GLE, besides GLT?

I don't have my girlfriend's title to her 850 to look at. Shouldn't the title read Volvo 850? 854 is not a valid model number. 854 is what we, enthusiasts use, to distinguish the sedan from wagon.

 

Volvo uses 854 and 855 and others to decifer cars.
