This is the best writeup I've seen. It may or may not apply to your rack.

Great find Lee,

I've printed it out (double sided) on my colour laser for inclusion in my 'covers everything' 850 Volvo data book I'm gradually putting together.

Thanks!

The only rebuild kit I could find was for an SMI rack, which were made in France. My rack is a TRW made in England.

So, I decided to buy a reman and replace it two weeks ago. Nota fun job at all. After one day, the new rack is leaking from the rear most central seal. Wonderful. So I insteadbuy another reman and swap it out. The original distributor is off my list of companies to buy from. They aren't even covering my shipping going back for their defective rack, yet they wanted me to buy another one from them? At least the new one is working fine - AB

I think it would be quite legitimate to name the firm that supplied you with the faulty reman rack and that would allow forum members to make up their own minds whether they want to purchase any products from this firm or steer clear of them.
