Default Radio will not tune in

Hello all, the radio in my 96 850 turbo wagon will not tune into a specific station it will pick up stations at random. This all started after replacing the battery. Punched in the code and radio stations started playing at random but will not change with the dial. Anyone heard of this or did my radio just get fried somehow?

Is the seek or scan button stuck down?

if you change the battery you need to reprogram you radio for "usa" just look at the manual (if you have it)
and on the manual it will show you on how to do it.

It was set to USA and the scan works fine the radio is getting any signals so it just keeps going.....I can get fm radio stations at random while i'm driving but it will not stay on one station....Its like I have no control over the tuner...Whne I change the station it just keeps randomly playing stations...Seems like an antenna issue but I didn't find anything out of wack to the eye

any other ideas......Where is the antenna booster?

If it has a booster then it is in the radio.

If you can find an old antenna laying around try plugging it in the back of the radio and see if it changes it.

It is not antenna or booster -the electronic tuner is changing the stations, antenna/booster only supply signal that is then amplified, and if the signal is weak or there is no signal, the tuner should stay at the chosen frequency, and you'd hear noise/static, but it should not go to another frequency.
I'd try to turn the raio OFF, disconnect the battery or the radio itself, wait 10-15 min., re-connect and try again to turn it On - meybe it will reset it.

But are you 100% sure you are hitting SEEK and not SCAN?

Seek will find a station and stay there. Scan will find one and pause for 30 to 40 seconds then continue to the next station.

He says its changing ramdomly, not in any order. Seek would change to the next higher station?

Yes seek would.

Scan would continue to go up as well.

If it jumps from like 100 down to 89 them I would say the radio is junk.

Default RE: Radio will not tune in

I'm about to give and just install the Sirius radio with a cassette adapter or something , but thanks for the feedback guys....I will try another antenna see if works.....I have reset it many times and nothing.....Just to be clear..the radio will not tune in at all...even when the the station numbers change it has no signal....It will pick up stations at random and even if I change the dial or hit seek it will keep playing the same random station or go to static. It seems the tuner is not connected to whatever changes the frequency ..called the dealer said they never heard of it but bring it in. Think I'd rather spend the money on a nice sat. radio its my wifes car and she never listen to regular radio anyway we only use it for the FM modulator. I even found the random station once and tuned in the sat. radio but the station would change to often. This is still a damn good car still with 140k but she will not stay out of my Saab with the radio broke so I get stuck driving it . I enjoy this old brick but maybe this is just the excuse I need to trade this thing in on a new Saab 9-3 aero wagon...ha ha

I got an SC-810 out of my 94 850 Turbo. Let you have it for $50.00 plus shipping. I also have a Volvo CD changer that goes with it if you're interested.

Default My HU-613 Randomly Changes Stations, Too

I have a 2003 V70 with the HU-613 radio/CD. Recently it has started randomly changing the station as I drive. It won't stay on any particular station and it doesn't do it all the time, but enough to be very annoying. I have an XM unit and I never change the station normally. Does it sound like I need a replacement unit?
