Hello, new member/first time poster here. I'm a longtime 1997 Volvo 850 owner, and aside from a few minor problems this car has never let me down. That said, recently I've encountered a problem with my car Radio system. I was listening to the radio one day, when suddenly, after going over a speed bump, the whole system just shut down. Admittedly, I was probably going a little faster over the speed bump than I should have been. Oh well. Anyway, when I try using the power button to turn it back on, nothing happens. So I'm wondering if maybe the impact from the speed bump caused some power connection to come loose. I'm sure it's a relatively easy fix, but I'm not sure where to start. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

im not sure for you, but for me when i was having issues with my headunit turning off and not turning on, and turning off whilst driving, it was a dud ground in the loom...
did a bit of customizing and upped the ground cables, and has been sweet since, no issues...
but, check the easy stuff first, fuse, if the plug is loose etc...

 

My C70 has done this 3 times, each time I got the CODE reading on panel, re-entered, worked. Once just vwent off, I automatically entered code, came back on. Found for thought!
