Default Re-occuring issue with turbo

Hello all, I have a 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo and about 2 months ago, my car would intermittently stall with finally the end result in the fuel pump failing. I replaced it and not too soon after I noticed that my turbo would not spool up like normal, with the turbo gauge not going into the positive. I took it to my mechanic where I go to school and he couldn't find a problem as he was unfamiliar with Volvos and turbos in general. So I am home on break for a few days an plan on bringing in the car to our true and tested mechanic. I need to point him in the right direction. I have posted on forums before and people keep telling me to check the vacuum lines. So after finally finding my camera today I took the following pictures....

I would say they are right and to check your vacuum lines. It also looks your PCV system is clogged and forcing oil out all over the place.

it looks like my engine did before rebuild - order a new complete pcv unit including hoses -$115 at fcp groton-remove your intake and check the sensor at the base of the turbo intake "DO NOT REMOVE IT FROM HOSE " spray liberally with engine cleaner and let sit for at least 1 hour then spray same with brake cleaner or carb cleen -use a tooth brush to scrub - find a small tool you can run thru the small hose connect and push out caked oil plug spray with brake cleen til it runs clear- you are probably going to need to replace the front and rear oil seals because it looks like they have blown from back pressure in the valve cover area-I implore all owners of the 850 n/a or turbo check your pcv at every oil change - it will save you possibly thousands of dollars work later on down the road - if you even suspect that its blocked clean it or change it

so this is what you suggest I order? Does this include those 2 seals you mentioned?

Also is this why my turbo has been malfunctioning and I have had a CEL about improper o2 emissions?

Thank you so much for your help!

If you have a CEL for O2 emissions, then your O2 sensors may be bad. I would still check all you hoses, with all that oil build up that you pics showed I wouldn't be surprised if excess oil is playing some havoc with your turbo, or some of your hoses have gotten so spongy from being saturated with oil that you have some leaks. I don't know how long you have had the car, but from the looks of it, whoever had it last didn't maintain it as well as they should have, and I wouldn't be surprised if you have a some vac leaks or cracked hoses.

Did you know if that kit had those seals? I plan on printing all of this off and giving it to my mechanic tomorrow because I am unable to do this repair by myself at the moment. Thanks.

that is the kit - no it doesnt come with the front and rear camshaft oil seals - you can get them from fcp groton too just make sure you order the correct ones either turbo or non turbo - which car you have
