Default rear window and headlight washers

i am currently having problems with my headlight washers and me rear window washer.

when i press the switch to wash my rear window i can hear the pump working but no screenwash comes out, i have tried the usual pin in the washer but still nothing, what route does the pipe takje from the pump to the rear window as i susspect its broken/blocked.

also my headlight washers dont work, same thing tho, can hear the pump going and my windscreen washers squirt screenwash nicely. again have tried the pin in the washers to clean them but still nothing.

any help would be gladly received :-)

Sticking a pin into the squirter holes is no longer recommended.

If the motor is going and if you have sufficient washer fluid, I can only think of 4 things:

- Clogged in-line washer fluid filter
- Clogged "T" connection for the headlight washers
- Clogged hose
- Clogged squirter where the pin used did not reach the FOD if there was one.
- Wiring trouble

Trace the washer hose to the rear, but other members may be able to tell you the routing.

The hose for the rear washer runs down the passenger side of the vehicle. If you pull up the floor panels like going to the spare or the one in the right rear corner ?? you should see the line. There is a filter in the line in that rear area and there is also a one way check valve in the line up close to the nozzle under the hard plastic trim on the rear hatch.

Hopefully one or more of these ought to do the trick.

The first thing I would check is to see if washer fluid is coming out on the ground at the reservoir. Then follow the hoses from there. You can unplug the hoses at the different connections to see how far the fluid is reaching.

Five will get you ten the check valve in passenger rear corner (under the trim near RR speaker) is hopelessly clogged. That's what it was on mine.

Front will most likely be the t-valve, it has a diaphragm in it which fails and leads to no water getting to the jets. This has failed on mine, and I've heard it's quite common.

Does any one have a diagram as to where the T valve is located? I have a 96 850 GLT and no fluid going to head lights. Is there a T valve for each side?
