Default recently purchased a volvo 850r sedan

Ive recently purchased a old beat up volvo 850R sedan "red" all the vacuum lines were rotted the turbo was barely holding a pound or two of boost but over the last month ive replaced the old hoses and flushed the radiator changed the oil mann oil filter, lucas injector cleaner etc... next i am going to change the fuel filter and the cat. cars run great now.

I added a bosst controller set to 13lbs. a cone filter and some custum Perrin tubing from a STI to the upper intercooler/TB section.

Annyway what are some other things to lookout for or change and what are some other minor mods I can do before a ecu tune

I think I'd make sure your stage zero is done before a tune. All your suspension good and not worn? Motor mounts good? PCV good? Know when it had a timing belt done last?

Fill out your location so others close to you can help if needed. Congrats on the purchase, my wife's DD is a red/charcoal 850R sedan. I sold my matching R wagon for the current T-5R with 214k on it. Still running strong.

I wanna do the splash guards too and the newer sprayer things. I want the back mat for my wagon too but there are no pick and pulls around me.

Hi boxpin

I've not been here a lot lately, have been looking as time permits. Lots of work, and I have to take it when I can get it!

My wife needed a new car, so we bought her a 2010 Flex back in late October. That's kinda taken the wind out of the Volvo sails and kinda depleted the fundage for non-essential Volvo mods for awhile. But, I've been pretty good and should be able to get started again soon. I've bought a few parts through the winter.

2013 was a quality year for the car, though. Car started out as a neglected 850R, I did timing belt, water pump, plugs, PCV system, 5 new tires, couple new volans to replace bent ones, repaired odo gears, euro turn signal install, rear spoiler install, 3 oil changes, partial silicone vacuum line installation, 4 new speakers. I put about 12k miles on the car, owning it 9 months out of 2013.

Got some parts to go on in the spring when it warms up - seems we are getting a few inches of snow about once a week and I'm ready for some warm weather.

Parts ready to go on in the spring: front strut brace, new front spoiler, coolant recovery tank and all coolant lines

Parts installs I need to finish buying for 2014 (hopefully) installation: 302 brake conversion, cross drilled and slotted rotors with stainless brake lines, bilstein HDs all around, rebuilt or new oil cooler lines, possibly a radiator (original is still intact, no leaks, but I have a hard time trusting it after ~17 years), new tint.

Other things I'd like to do, but haven't figured out the budget for 2014 yet: IPD sways, front and rear. Reproduction front seat covers.

But I'm still having a blast, and enjoying Volvos Thanks for asking!

Wow! This is the recipe I followed on my T-5R. The only recommendation I have is to stay away from the Bilstein HD-B9 shocks. I regret to this day for installing these on my 850

I hope this helps
