Ok, I've looked everywhere but if someone has already posted about this, please direct me there. The alarm light in my dash doesn't work anymore. It had to have happened within the past few months because it used to work just fine. The reason I noticed and why I need to fix it is because I'm trying to program a 2nd remote to the car (97 854R). I know how to program the remote because I did it when I got the car, but now I can't program the new one. The remote isn't the problem because it's the same one (the one with LOCK/PANIC above and UNLOCK below). The alarm and the locks still work just fine, and all the fuses are good. I just need to know why the light won't light. Thanks guys.

 

Are you sure the alarm is arming? A lot of time the rear hatch or one of the doors fail to lock and the alarm is actually no longer arming.

 

I just tested it to be sure and yeah, it works fine. I don't understand what it could be. It's not just the bulb, because then I would still be able to program the remote. And it's not the receiver because my current remote still works.
