Remote Doorlocks

RE: Remote Doorlocks
Hey gang,
I have a 1994 850 but I don't seem to have the lock button to the left of my wheel. The dash it fairly clear but maybe I just have not noticed .
Ido have the central locking system and two fobs but think that I need to replace them, rubber pads have worn pretty good,as there are times that they will work and others not. Always seems to unlock the car but when it comes to locking, that can be hit or miss at times. And yes I have changed the batteries [sm=smiley36.gif].
I am, almost, positive that someone else here has added the unit that controls the locks but I can not find the post. It seemed to work for him.
I will look again as there were a lot of posts going back and forth on that one.

RE: Remote Doorlocks
My son's car came with electric locks but no remote and no alarm. I picked up a remote receiver and the remotes off of eBay and it was plug and play after we programmed the remotes.
The only way to tell for sure is to remove the glove box and look over toward the A pillar for a black box with a green connector plugged into it that that says ALPS Electronics on it. While there, note the model number and the FCC identifier number which is in the fine print so that you can buy the appropriate keyfobs.
