Default roof rack

Hi,

I just bought a 97 850 sedan and it is great. I want to haul my kayak and I was wondering if the Volvo load bars are as good as say a Yakima. Anyone have the Volo system?

thanks

On my V70 I have the Euro-Rail and the Volvo Crossbars and I haul two Kayaks with Thule carriers. No problem whatsoever. There is a set of just crossbars made specifically for the sedan. I have seen them, but do not have any actual experience with them. I would go for a name brand or the genuine Volvo whichever you can find the best deal on.

My wife and I look real cool going down the road with our two orange and yellow kayaks on the roof of our burundy V70. One time we took them on a weekend trip to northern Ohio. Never took them off the car, but we looked cool the whole time.

I know what you mean. I was looking for an 850 wagon, but I really liked this sedan. Do you know the shape of the factory load bars? I found a photo but it is not detailed enough. If it is an odd shap I will use a Yakima.
