Rough suspension
Greetings from Chicagoland.
Yes, 850s come with firm suspensions, as 850s are sport sedans/wagons.
If you wish to make the ride softer, then you can switch to softer struts/shocks. Whichever the damper you choose, make sure that they are of name brand and are preferably manufactured in USA, Canada, Germany, England, Spain or Japan (some other countries may also apply). Try not to go for cheapo, as they are sure to fail or will not give you what you expect.
I wish you luck in finding a good set of dampers.

My wife usually drives the car and I took it to work tonight. I have a 70 mile commute each way. I kept thinking about how rough it is. We have used it on car trips too. I like the car a lot, but I wondered if that was the ride or just mine. This was the only 850 I drove or had ridden in.

My son's 850 Turbo sedan has Monroe Sensa-tracs on it. The ride is not bad, a little rough, but that is mostly due to the bad roads and the fact that the car has 174K on it.
Just my .02 cents.
Good luck,
Glenn
