Volvo V70 GLT Suspension, Shocks, rough ride

I recently bought a 1999 Volvo V70 GLT. I love this car, but the ride seems really rough. When i go over a pot hole its like the end of the world has struck. Some friends of mine felt it and said i definitely need new shocks. The car has 70,000 miles and is a 1999 - should new shocks be a realistic service right now? My brother is about to put new shocks into his Pontiac Vibe and I'm going to help him. He told me he would help me do my suspension if i got the parts. What are the exact parts i need to buy in order to make this car have its original smooth luxury feel? I would really appreciate some help in this. Thanks so much.

I use:
- Bilstein TC Struts
- OEM Volvo Control Arms
- New Tierods
- New Swaybar endlinks

If you refer to the REAR shocks, then it is different. All you need is:
- Bilstein Shock
- Shock Mount (it goes on top of the shock).
