Running wires through fuse box instead of firewall
Hi! Tomorrow I am going to be running the power wire for my battery to my new amp. Instead of running the wire through my firewall, I was looking at running it through my fuse box. There are wires running from the engine compartment into the fuse box. I was going to run the wire for my amp with that then simply drill a hole in the bottom of the fuse box where I can then easily pull it down from under the dashboard and run it under the carpets to the trunk. Before I do this, I want to make sure it is safe to the wire through the fuse box. No, I am not hooking the wire to the fuse box, just running it through it. Thanks!
Why not just use the firewall passthru?
there is one on each side of the firewall
I wouldnt compromise the fusebox, for an amp wire. thats the last thing you need is moisture to get into it and corrode those connections...

I agree 100% on that. If you take the fuse box cover off with the torx screws, then unscrew the panel that the fuses mount on, it's relatively easy to slide a few smaller gauge wires down through there. I went that route because I hate seeing visible wires, even if they're encased in flex loom.
