I think 300whp will be pushing it on a stock engine. Lookforjoe on VS is like 285 awhp and he has a crazy intense built car.

Yes seen that car. But if you convert to FWD will be more like 325 or so I believe.

Yeah, but that's with a completely built engine and he's running like a 20G. Don't think you'll get those kind of numbers on a stock engine. You generally don't even run 19Ts on stock rods.

I'm hoping for 300 hp. That would be sweet.

ipd has that Stage III kit. They claim that will give you over 300 HP. Is that not a good idea for these T-5R motors? I was actually dreaming about getting one of those kits.

Also, I have one of those scan gauges. They said that there is a way to program it to show horse power. I'm going to fool with it soon to see how it works. Not sure if it's rhp or whp.

The stage III kit for these cars is fine. It's just that you can do A LOT cheaper by getting the parts elsewhere. Source a good used 18T, OBX, and then get an IPD tune. IPD's exhaust is the same dimensions as OBX.

This is the route I took.

I honestly think that iPd is just using OBX parts and claming it as theirs. I mean, everything looks spec for spec.

I believe you are right. I don't think there are to many manufacturer for performance parts for these old cars. I don't have a problem getting a kit from them, it saves time and they have done the homework for us/me. Especially for people that do not use forums like this one. Heck, I have been a Volvo guy since '87 and just found this site last year.

July 5th, the car is up on jacks. Parts and tools begin to make their way out of the garage.

I like that stance. I can't wait to get some rear spacers too. Probably some 10mm or something.

Well, she's in. Did not have time to finish the exhaust so I will do it tomorrow. Had to start it up and give it a couple low revs just to hear it rumble(straight pipe). Heehee
