Siting beside the road with a for sale on it. It appears it may be the real thing, but I did not know how to decode the VIN when I saw it. I don't want one, but I will probably need to buy it anyway. It is not with any collector; has quite a bit of body damage, but the alcantera interior looks good. Evidently it runs. I will keep y'all updated.

 

Did you try the VIN decoder on the forum (up top - use the Tools pull down) - curious if that tells you anything? Also if you stop by again, can you see whether the ECU sticker shows a 628 (for the R) or 072 (standard Turbo)?

 

If you can look under the hood, the exhaust manifold on the R was different from the one from the standard T5. A google image search will show the differences.
