Default Some buying help please...

Have a 94 850 Turbo wagon and looking for another Volvo. Any suggestions or things to stay away from? Would like like AWD but have heard more bad than good about them. Any suggestions and pointers would be good, what to look for what to stay away from. Also, what year did Volvo start clear-coating?

Thanks guys,
Chris

Depends on your price range. Besides, all models have their quirks. THe most important thing to look for is vehicle condition and documented regular maintenance

I would stay away from the 99 to 2001 models because of the throttle body issues. As for the AWD, unless you need it, I would not get an AWD Volvo. The only ones I hear that are good are the 2005 and new models.

Clear coating? Do you mean paint? A long time ago.

How long ago. I have a 94 which has never been repainted and is and was not ever clear coated.

+1 on both.... I would stay away from the AWD... Seems to be the missing link. All models do have their quirks and annoyances even down to the old 240s. Just make sure to look over the Volvo you want well! Look over service history and oil change intervals on turbo models (i am big on this). Keep us updated on your possible new "acquisition"! Good Luck!
