Somethings wrong with the maf, help!
Hi everyone,
While driving home in my 95 850 today, I noticed the rpms were dropping, at an idle the car seemed like it was about to cut off. I checked the codes and from the A2 (Engine) it came up with 1-2-1 "Missing of faulty MAF signal" I don't know what to do? I remember about 8 months ago it was doing the same thing, but I took it to a shop and I think they cleaned the Idle Air Control Valve I believe. Please help
Thank You!
I recorded what the car is doing

Cleaning a Maf can help a little to keep it alive a little longer. Un plug it and see if the car runs any better. This will throw a CEL but it will also help to prove out that the maf is good or bad. If the car stays witth the dropping idle then its something else but if stays a constant rmp and seems better then its your maf going out.

I unplugged the connector to the maf, the only difference that I see is that (with the connector unplugged) when I push on the peddle to keep it at a steady 2000rpm it will stay at that for the most part. If I try to do it with the connector plugged in, the rpm will just drop and the car will almost cut off. But still in both cases with it plugged in or not the rpms still drop.

Pick up some maf cleaner from AutoZone or something as well as an Interference t25, take out the sensor carefully and give it a spray. Also heard of a hard ecu reset sometimes helping odd problems such as this.

Disconnect the battery cables(both) and then hold the + and - together for about 20 seconds it will pull all of the power out of the harness. Look for some vacuum leaks and how did you clean your ISV? Did you soak it in a bag of carb clean or just spray it out?
