Default Speaker Wire Question

I bought a small powered subwoofer to put in the back of my wagon, but don't know where to tap into the existing speaker wire. The easiest ones to get to would be the rear tweeters, but are these wires getting just the high notes, or are they the same as tapping into the wires going to the door speakers?

Default RE: Speaker Wire Question

i don't really understand what you're asking, i've never heard of taping into a speaker with a subwoffer

to run a sub you need an amp, a wire from the pos battery terminal to the amp, a ground wire from the amp,an ignition wire going from your head unit to you amp (turns the amp on and off with the car), rca cables from the head unit to the amp, and then speaker wires from the amp to the sub

hope this helps

The very thin wires carry high frequency and the big fat wires carry the doof, doof sounds.[sm=yikesomg.gif]

Seriously, a speaker wire in a vehicle is just a speaker wire -the design of aparticular speakercausesthecone to oscillatewithin a certainfrequency range. Justmake sure you don't mis-match the impedance of the speakers.
