Well did a Engine and Trans Swap
while Installing New trans i did not notice the
the Trans are different between years
I got a 1995 Volvo 850
But the trans is From a 1996 And Newer

i have tryed to wire it up to a 1996 and new
changed the connection, but that did not work
Changed computers (4.3, 5.3, 7.3, Trans Computer Numbers)that did not work either
rewired to the Front Driver Side ABS sensor Kind of Worked but it did not shift

Had Different Codes With Different computers

5.3 ECU - I get Shift Solenoid B malfunction
7.3 ECU - I get Speed Sensor Malfunction
7.3 ECU Different - throttle Position Sensor and Speed sensor Malfunction

I searched but could not find his problem or how to fix it been working on it for 4 weeks trying to fix this problem

 

You have yourself a nice nightmare here.
I have not done one but the tranny is not the only different thing. The ABS is totally different as well.

 

I know the ABS are different.
But is there a way to wire the the speedo to work, so it can shift?
Is the million dollar question here

 

From what I hear there was a guy on Volvo speed that did it but it was a major nightmare.

See I kind of am in the same boat. My tranny is going and if I cannot find the manual tranny and stuff to convert over I will have to get a 96 one and figure it out as well.
