Spring seat vs upper strut mount
I know my left front spring seat is shot so I am going to replace both but should I also spend the money on the upper strut mounts or are they one of those things that just about lasts forever?

You do the spring mount when it goes out. Check it out when you take the assembly out. It should be nice and smooth when you spin it. Usually it is just the spring seat, I suppose the strut mount would last a while.
