V40 Front correct upper spring mount position
My first front strut, spring, top mount replacement job, probably my last.
Put unit back together trying to be sure upper spring mount was positioned with the widest point from the hole faced out. Wanted to make sure it didn't rub on back of well. Drove it and still have a short rattle that I noticed on the old strut. Not constant but persistent. Appears that the piston on the strut is favoring one side of the spring seat hole. Not rubbing at the parked position but wonder if the seat should be rotated to center it.
Also notice that the space between top of tire and wheel well opening appears much greater than I remember it being before. Old struts were still intact and springs were replaced a few months earlier. Your comments would be appreciated.
