Hey guys.
I have been having a problem with my car a few weeks now. It stalled out a couple of times on me. I took it to one mechanic and her changed the coil module(if that is the correct name). but the was not the problem. I took it to Ammco and they did a complete diagnostic on it and the onlt thing they found was the transmission fluid was burnt and the the tranny was not functioning properly. so i changed the tranny and I still ahve the same problem. Most times when it stalls I just put the car in park or neutral and start it up and it goes like nothing happened.
Can it be an electrical problem or it is just not getting the fuel properly.
Any help on finding my problem would be very much appreciated

 

It could be many things. The first to look at is the fuel pump relay,Cam sensor, and PNP switch.

 

changed the cam sensor, the crank sensor an the problem is still there. where is the pnp switch and the fuel pump relay. i would tackle that tomorrow.

The PNP switch is under the battery tray on the transmission. Where the cable attaches to the trans. The sensor is on the shaft.

 

Looking forward to the results here. I am having the same problem and interesting enough it started about the same time as yours. Once mine stalls I have to wait about 10 minutes before it will start up again.

 

just a thaught the wife has a fiat mpv same thing happens turned out to be the idle controle valve .never happened to my 1996 850 but it does have an idle controle valve . [sm=happybounce.gif]

 

ok, Changed the fuel pump relay today and I gave the car a run. it runs weel and this time it did not stall. Thanks for the advice and I will keep u posted on any changes.
