Well I am having trouble getting my car started again. I deliver food so i belive the starter has been worn down from constant stop and go. The problem is the car was running fine and then I am trying to leave work and it won't start.
Details:
Battery is fully charged.
Starter is recieving voltage and is grounded.
It makes absolutely no sound whatsoever when attempting to crank.
Any ideas?

Tech, I also need to replace my daughter's starter. I will be driving to her college (200 miles away) this weekend. I have replaced starters before in a Mercedes, and a Chevy Surburban but neveer in a front wheel drive car such as the 850. Are there any drawings, procedures etc, that I can look at? I have the Haines manual but it just says take it out and put it back in.
My questions, Where is it? What else has to come off? What tools do I need? How long should it take?
On my son's mercedes we had to cut a hole in the firewall to access the upper mounting bolt. Am I going to run into similar problems here? If it was in my garage I would just start the job without any worries. But I will be working in the college parking lot with no access to electric or air tools, and I will be 200 miles away from home.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Joe

Tools you will need.
14MM 3/8 socket (Short or deep doesn't really matter)
12MM socket.
10MM Deep socket or a 10MM wrench
13MM wrench
Swivel 3/8 drive
If you decide to remove the Cooling fan you will need.
8MM socket
T-25
The starter is located under the intake on the drivers side By the transmission.
You might decide to remove the Cooling fan to give you more room.
There is also a bracket that goes from the starter to the block. It is mounted on the back of the starter.
Sorry I don't have a source with pics. There has got to be one out there but I don't know it.
Once you figure it out it should only take you about 20-40 minutes to replace.
No suprises awate you.

Done, it wasn't too bad. I found the reason it went bad: it was fried by a bad ground. I don't wanna start another thread, but I was doing a little bit of spirited driving on my favorite touge road. On all of the parts where the suspension would dive or move, the front right would constantly make rubbing noises, but only that side. Any possibilities?
