My 1993 850's starter is getting stuck running when I turn the car off. I have to give the starter solenoid a gentle hit to stop it from running. And when I crank the car to start it sounds like the battery is low. Also on my way to work this morning on the highway the whole car shut off (Engine, lights, radio, heater)then turned back on any ideas.Thanks.

 

I'd have the battery tested first. Then check all the battery connections and make sure the post are clean. They don't show corrosion like they use to way back when.

 

I'm having the battery load tested tomorrow at parts source for free.
But looking through the Volvo service manual I downloaded it's pointing towards a faulty ignition switch.What do you guys think.
