If the motor was cranking, the starter was fine.
As for the cover on top of the motor, you should have tools for that in your tire change kit pouch.
For under $50 you can purchase the tools you need to fix 90% of the problems that you'll ever have with these 850's and most other cars.

did you check for the humming noise from the fuel pump when you turn on the ignition, my best bet will your fuel pump relay.

Checked for codes none found. fuel pump seems to be working fine I even jumped the fuel pump relay and still wouldnt start only thing I havnt done is actually checked fuel pressure @ the rail. So im stuck with eiter a bad cam sensor or low fuel pressure
