Default Story Time

I was coming home from work the other night in the Yellow T5R playing the stereo kind of loud and driving with the traffic. Then this idiot comes whipping around cars switching lanes and gets in front of me. Not sure what kind of car it was, just know it was silver and the guy was going pretty fast. So he comes up behind another car and he whips around him to the right. I pushed the Sport button.

I came around behind him past the car in theleft land and then went to the left lane and came up along side of him. I was just riding beside him with plenty of throttle left. Then there was a sign that said left lane ends 1/4 mile. I looked down and we are doing 110 mph side by side. I just think when that lane ends I'm going to be in front of him unless he's can stop me. I floored it and he was quickly in my rear view mirror.

I love these cars!

I love driving our Volvo on the open road. Even our 850GLT (LPT) moves from 60mph +. You can tell it was built for top end Autobahn style cruising.

Good story!

+1 for Turbo Boxes. :-)

I really don't know what kind of car it was. It was a two door and it was silver in color. It was not real small either, but almost definitely a Japanese car. When I came up behind him I could not tell what it was. May have been debadged. One thing for sure he didn't think it was very fast when he was checking out my tail lights.

By the way we were on a nice open road that I drive every night and I didn't get on him until we come to the spot where traffic breaks and the road opens up. I have only seen a cop patrol the area once. The night after I blew this guy away. When I saw him there I just thought Holy Crap if he was there last night I probably would have been hauled to jail.

Really didn't drive fast for much more than a mile either. Sometimes I can not resist that urge to just put my foot into these cars and feel the accleration. I can remember being in the car when my Dad used to race guys on the street, so I come by it natural that's for sure. One time my son and I raced each other while my Dad was riding with me in my Porsche. Dad was all smiles.

I would say that is absolutely normal/natural/universal. Who wouldn't appreciate the moment when the turbocharger kicks in at about 3,500-4,000+ RPM?

My son in law thinks he 850 Turbo wagon is fast than my T5R and he has been drving the T5R for the last couple days while he has been working on his. Thinks the T5R is quicker once you get it moving, but his regular turbo wagon seems quicker off the line. Guess there is only one way to find out.

Let's see I have an 850 R, T5R, my son has a 98 V70R, my one daughter has the 95 Turbo wagon and the other daughter has an S80 T6. We really don't know which one is the fastest, but my guess is the S80 T6 since one blew me off one day in the 850 R.
