Default Strange change in boost pressure

I am getting an increase in boost when the AC kicks on. It causes the car to surge a little when at speed, not really a jerking, and not a rush of power, just a small noticeable sensation and the gauge will jump about 5 psi higher.

Any thoughts?

Have you washed your engine lately?

Nope (?)

Just happens when the AC is on and the compressor cycles. When the AC is off all is fine.

just wondering because mine used to do that when I washed my engine and the turbo got wet...

What are the PSI changes? from what to what?
Does it only happen under hard acceleration or just cruising at lets say 60mph?

I do not notice it under hard acceleration, mainly at cruising speed or a when at a constant speed. Only happens when the AC compressor cycles on. The change in psi is about 5lbs of needle movement. You can feel the car slightly surge and or decel. It is an odd feeling, especially in volume traffic on the highway...

Still can't get this sorted.... ugh...

Maybe the AC compressor is going bad and dragging more?

Next time you are going to race someone roll down the window and tell them to hold on a sec while you switch on the A/C.

(thats a joke btw)

hahaha... Well it is hard to keep the tires in contact with the AC off... I will be the one speeding and slowing down here in the summer...

Meanwhile, the mechanic say bring it in. Not sure if this is a byproduct from all the work that has recently been done, or just an opening up due to the fact that all the work has been done.
