My 1995 850 turbo is making a strange gurgling/grinding noise behind the front passenger side. just behind the headlight. Anyone ideas?

 

I have a strange noise on the passenger side of my car too, but only when my wife is sitting there. Sorry, could not pass that one up. I know the noise you are referring to, but not sure what it is.

 

Try moving the headlight wiper arm and see if it changes or stops.

 

yep it was the headlight wiper. Those wipers never worked since i got the car a year ago. it has been making that noise for several months. it caused so many things to vibrate behind the headlight that i could never pin point it. never thought to check the wiper. thanks for your help. now I'm going to find the harness to unhook the damn thing so noise doesnt come back.

 

I unhooked mine awhile back on both cars. I was also going to suggest the headlight wiper, but Tech beat me to the punch <grin>
