My wife has recently purchased a 2nd hand, 1 owner XC90. There is a strange rattle/scraping noise coming from the RH front corner, low down (this is a RH drive model) when driving and accelerating especially at low speed. It sounds a bit like "pinging' did in old carby cars. It also happens when you are at cruise speed and touch the accelerator. If you stop accelerating the noise stops. It does not happen on idle or when coasting in neutral. If you park and engage the drive with the brake on the noise also happens. I have had a look around underneath but can see nothing amiss. Can any one help please.

 

ANSWER: It was the engine mounts! All fixed now. Would never have picked it
