Two quick questions that I have not found an answer to online. I have a 1996 volvo 850R sedan. I am in the process of rebuilding the front suspension along with the rear. When it comes down to the shocks and struts I am not sure if the 850R has nivomat suspension ? I can't seem to find that anywhere. Is there any cheaper alternatives to the expensive stuff for the nivomats out there on the market ?

I don't think the sedans have nivomat. You can get some good options from iPd and FCP.

 

Is there a way to tell if i do by chance before i order the goods from IPD ?

if your'e in the process of changing your suspension,go for coilovers,makes a huge difference(should be about the same price if you've got nivomats)

Thanks for the help everyone. I did check my car against those pictures and looks like I do not have nivomats !! One last question when I turn off the car I get a buzzing noise around the drivers side of the dash and the battery light kicks on for a couple of seconds then goes off ? I replaced the micros-switch for the shift lock and that did not work so I am wondering if the solenoid is bad or could it be a combination of the ignition switch/solenoid. Any thoughts ?
