Default switching engines

ok, so i came across a listing on craigslist with a person advertising an engine with 79k on it (non turbo) for 500 dollars from a 1997 volvo 850. the question i have is: will a 1997 volvo 850 non turbo engine fit in my 1993 volvo 850 non turbo car without a problem or would there need to be some modifications done?

My guess is that you might need some sensor/electronics swaping because of the difference of OBD-I and OBD-II. I am assuming that you are still keeping the original exhaust which will tell that your emission sytem will stay the same and should be no major showstoppers.

In addition to my remarks above, You will also have to take this upgrade in consideration while ordering engine parts in future because things like coolant pump and timing belts are different on those.
