Someone might have put that setup on.
They usually are only on the older 98 model year motors.
Unless it is a 98 motor in the car.

So you think that car had a blown head gasket?

The one you are going back for, it has the new head?

That's almost funny about the one that was locked up. I once purchased a S70 with a locked up motor. The guy purchased it with a blown head gasket. Took his sweet time getting around to having the head gasket replaced. Installed a new turbo, new tb, water pump, rollers, plugs, starter, etc. He was stuck. He sold me the entire car for $500. I took off the Valons, Bilstein struts, and a few other parts and sold the car with no wheels for $500. I wish I had the strength to take off the steel brake lines and a few other parts but those struts just kicked my butt. My elbow is still hurting me 9 months later.

I think the belt itself is different but the teeth on the pulleys are the same.
I have heard of people removing the hydraulic setup and going to the mechanical setups.
From what I remember they just had to buy the entire kit (belt and pulleys) to make it work.
Worse case use your stuff with that head.

Congrats!
Oh and I know what you mean! I have seen some real BAD head jobs like that in the past.

The cam cover might not be warped it just might be a tighter fitting one on the pins.
