They do exist.

They do exist.
This is for people that have replaced the small dash bulbs, done a color conversion. Or are going to in the future. It seems the biggest gripe has to do with the smaller bulbs and the fact that they are soldered in to the holders. (Turn signals, Trip computer, CC lights, etc..) I give you non soldered bulb holders, that take wedge bulbs.

You have to know the password, and secret handshake. j.k
Truth is I really don't know the answer to that. I believe it is the new way Eiko is making them now. I walked in to an O'reilys and there they were. The packages are the same as the old soldered ones (even the barcode and SKU are the same) 2721MF is the part # that being said, if you ordered them, there is no telling whether you would get the black base soldered ones, or the new red based ones. The hanger in the bulb isle, had the 2 mixed together, which is why I think they are finally making these bulb replaceable. New stock mixed with the old stock. For those of you that are lost about this. The reason it is a development, is because prior to these wedge holders, you had to buy them with the bulb soldered in. Meaning if you had to replace a bulb, it cost more because instead of just being able to toss a bulb in, you had to pay more because of the holders. All this after I re-soldered new bulbs, using Audi holders for my light color conversion. Oh well. Anyway, in that lies the other benefit. Although I am changing the color, I am sticking with incandescent bulbs. But for those who do choose to go LED. They no longer have to be held hostage by superbrightleds.com, or autolumination.com, due to the holder. So if your FLAPS stocks the Eiko 2721MF's and all you see are the black ones. Ask if they have anymore in the back. If they do, they may be the red ones that haven't made it to the shelves yet.

Not like it's in any way difficult, or time consuming to pull the circuit board off. But none the less it's one thing I'll never have to do again, since i can now pull the bulbs out from the front. Which is good, because, it seems one of my tabs is getting ready to break.

Great info in the new style !!
If they are available from Sylvania (Oreilly's and Autozone carry them) opt for them over the Eiko. Eiko bulbs are cheap for a reason. For the work involved in most bulb replacements it isn't worth the one or two dollar savings on a pack to cheap out on the bulbs.
Just my two cents.
