Default Tips for getting timing belt on?

I am trying to get the timing belt on my 97 850 base. I have tensioner compressed and all components in place and no matter which way I try the belt seems way short. It's a contitech TB252 from FCP. It seems I'd have to stretch the hell out of the belt to get it on anywhere. Am I missing something? Could it be the wrong belt? It doesn't look nearly this difficult in the videos I have watched. Any help much appreciated.

Have you checked the little protrusion under the crank pulley ??

Wouldn't it be nice if it was always that simple.
