My volvo 850 transmition has been stuck in the automatic drive gear for about two months. This used to hapen but it would fix itself and work right after a couple days. Basically the car is (when I'm driving) always in the drive gear, it goes into reverse fine, but when I start going it is very slow to take off. I have tried starting the car in Low then maunally shifting it to 3rd then drive but it still stays in that one gear.....Anyone have any suggestions?

 

Have the codes been read out of the computers yet?

 

I'm trying to figure out what how much of the wiring harness has been jumped to even allow it to start in anything but neutral or park. Perhaps there are some translation problems going on here. Is this an automatic transmission?
