Hi I just got a po730 code on my 94 850 turbo what does it mean .

Here is a list of Volvo codes. I do not see a 730, but I am new to this, and do not really know what I am talking about. Are you sure it was 730? If so, maybe someone else has a clue. Anyone?

How did you get the code -did you put "cold" transmission into 3rd gear?
If yes, it may not be a problem -just clear the code and do not put tranny in 3rd when it's cold. You will not get the code back

 

What Im wondering is how you got the P code out of a 1994?
It is impossible unless you have an adaptor for a scanner to read codes under the hood.

Also unless you have a secret 1994 that has an OBDII plug inside the car.

But yes the code is for incorrect gear ratio. Try clearing it and see what happens.
